If you’re going to build muscle, you will want to do cardio only a maximum of 2 days per week. Doing too much cardio will disallow your body to hold onto the excess calories that it needs on a daily basis to build muscle. A good rule of thumb is to do only 2 to 3 cardio sessions per week, MAX, at 20 minutes per each session. Some people even cut out cardio completely, until they reach their desired weight.
