P90X: Do I Need to Do Yoga X? Are There Alternatives?

When was the last time you felt at peace? When was the last time you felt like you actually had control of your emotions? When was the last time that you actually felt free from your mind?

I just completed my 3rd true session of P90X’s Yoga X, and at this very moment, I feel at peace, I don’t have a care in the world, and I am free from my mind.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to feel like a kid again?

For me, Yoga X is more than just a workout. Yoga X is a way of building strength, flexibility, and being one with myself.

I am going to be honest here.

If you’re reading this now, you may think that this sounds like a huge load of horse do.

If someone had told me exactly what I am telling you before I had ever experienced Yoga X for myself, I would probably have thought that they were nuts.

But when you do Yoga for the first time, and truly stay in the moment, it will feel like a ride that you have never taken before.

Yoga may or may not be your favorite thing in the world. But that is okay. At one point in time, I didn’t like yoga much either.

Back on September 29th, I was researching alternatives for P90X’s Yoga X, when I ran into Amanda K Jones’ blog post: Stop Whining, and Just do It, at amandakjones.com.

Here is the comment I left on her post:

My comment had quite a bit of ‘tude, because Amanda’s blog post is a personal attack on you, me, and everyone who dislikes yoga.

“Stop whining and just do it.”

How does this comment inform anyone about the benefits of yoga? Even if your post provides great, well-explained information, you have already discredited yourself by putting down everyone who doesn’t agree with you, your statement, or doing yoga.

“People hate Yoga X because it’s hard.”

[Some] people hate Yoga X because it’s hard. Other people hate yoga for other reasons.

I want you to know that Yoga X is a lifestyle choice.

Like anything else, you can do it, or not.

Each time I do Yoga X, it’s like a ‘reset’ on my mind.

What do I mean by ‘reset?’

Have you ever felt like your mind was so overloaded with thoughts, ideas, tasks, etc, that it was going to explode?

Yoga X completely clears my mind.

This workout allows me to stay in the moment, not just during the workout, but in daily life, as well.

Yoga X has provided me with:

  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Clarity

As you can see, Yoga X is a great exercise and mind-clarifying workout that I enjoy performing. If you would like to enjoy the benefits of Yoga X, feel free to give it a try.

Although nothing compares to Yoga X, if you’re going to bag it completely, you should still do one of these workouts on Yoga X day:

1. X-Stretch

2. Cardio X

Although there is no true alternative to Yoga X, the above two workouts will still provide you with some great results.

To sum it up…

  • Yoga X can provide you with strength, flexibility, and mental clarity. Many other benefits are also associated with performing yoga, but these are the benefits that after only 3 weeks, I am currently experiencing.
  • You can still get great P90X results if you don’t do yoga. Think of all of the other P90X workouts you’re doing. You’re definitely going to get results regardless of whether or not you do yoga.
  • If you choose not to do yoga, be sure to still get an alternative workout it. I recommend X-Stretch or Cardio X.
